Hey now.

The only two reasons I feel like writing in the first place are 1) I'm bored as hell and need something to do and 2) I won my first game in the 8-ball league by sinking the 8-ball myself in eight weeks. That's one "legitimate" win in 35 games (5 games x 7 weeks... I didn't show up one week.) That makes me a winner. It also shows the insanity I have to deal with in this supposed casual / amateur league.

I have won a couple other games during that awesome streak, but it wasn't so much me winning as much as my opponent losing. I don't consider my opponent pocketing the 8-ball out of turn or in the wrong pocket to be "legitimate." Well, maybe "legitimate" isn't the right word. It's not the honorable way to win in my opinion.

I'm bored as hell today because it's too damn cold to do anything anymore. My disc golf season and my geocaching season are essentially over. Now begins the wonderful, potentially suicidal boredom I like to refer to as the next four months. Ack.

I'm gonna try to get three more caches under my belt this year, and that will bring me to 400 found this year. Not bad. Last year, I found 388. This year was unfairly loaded, though, with me hitting up Virginia Beach in February. If you cut those finds out, last year was more productive that this year. If I didn't essentially stop caching once I hit 1,000, I think I would have crushed last year's record. Oh well.

I don't see next year being as geocaching-intensive. I've found almost everything locally and who knows what gas prices will be next summer. Instead of finding a few hundred, I think I'll be placing some more in or around Keene and hitting up Tully more often to do some disc golfing. Mitchell and I didn't really do a good job at making it a weekly thing this season. :/

Brown got a jump start on apartment hunting and did pretty much all of the work by the time I was ready to start looking around. We found a nice 2-bedroom place that's easily bigger than our two apartments combined. It has two big bedrooms, way too many closets, full bath, a dishwasher, a washer and drier (not just the hook-ups!), and a large enough basement that we could turn into some sort of bar or game room. We're looking at getting our own pool table to throw down there. The basement even has coax cable running to it. Woo. Though not in the center of Keene, it's still close to a lot of amenities. It should do us good. I put down the security deposit and half of December's rent on the apartment this past Thursday. We can move in as soon as December 15. It'll be a slow move for both of us, as we're both stuck in our single apartments until the end of year. Well, Brown is. I could get out of it early, but I'm in no rush.

This place should save me at least $125 a month. Brown's paying way too much for where she currently lives; she'll be saving about $300 a month with this new arrangement. Damn, sucka.

Once everything is in place, you can guarantee that a PS3 and Rock Band will be the first upgrade we're making to our living room. :) Our watering hole doesn't have it set up anymore, sigh.

I've spent 2 1/2 hours today racking my brain as to what to get people for Christmas. I started searching online without a clue as to what to get anymore, and thanks mainly to gifts.com for all of the ideas, I got everyone figured out. I'm gonna get most of it online, and almost everything else tomorrow when me and Vikki take a drive to Concord. Not bad. I think this could be the first year in which I have everything taken care of before Thanksgiving.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, the day after ("Black Friday") is a big day of sales. There are sites out there that list all of the sales before the big day comes. I'm probably gonna pick up some Family Guy season DVD's at $15 a pop before having to go to work. Booya. Brrr.
Part of me feels the need to write, though I'm really finding it to be a chore now. I think this site is slowly dying. I guess if you really care, you can email me or message me on MySpace if you need to know what's the haps.

But really, not a whole hell of a lot has been going on. I've been keeping busy (still), which is nice, but nothing really worth typing out and broadcasting on the interweb.

Last week, I tied my geocaching record of 23 finds in a day by dicking around on a power trail in Bear Brook State Park. As I was finding cache after cache, I noticed someone else was finding the same caches I was. Their name was in each log book I found. There were a couple, actually, where I didn't see his name, which I guess means he didn't find it. I did run into him; he was heading back to his SUV. When I logged my finds that night, I noticed that he logged the caches he didn't sign his name in as finds. What gives? Though it's plausible that he went back and found the caches he missed (I doubt it, though, based on some conversation), I don't see the point of logging them online as finds if one didn't really find them. It's not like anything is at stake here. No money. No fame. You're only lying to yourself by doing such things.

The pool league sucks. Well, it's great that we always have a full team and a full opposing team, but we're just getting completely owned by every team we play against. I'm essentially paying $6 each week to get my ass kicked by someone significantly better than me and not learning anything in the process. Over the last four weeks, I've gotten 2 wins and 18 losses. The two wins I have aren't even "real" wins, either: my opponent sank the 8-ball in the wrong pocket or scratched after sinking the 8-ball. Even more sadly, I'm still the #2 seed, only behind the #1 see by one or two games. It's fucking ridiculous. I can't wait for this thing to end. I'm really discouraged by it all. I don't understand how I can be considered somewhat "good" at the bar or compared to my coworkers in the prior league, but in this "amateur" league, I'm just getting raped badly each and every week. Boo. :(

I'm not looking forward to the cold. I taped up my windows, though, to keep the cold out. But I haven't bothered to turn on the heat. I don't feel like paying for it. :p

Though February is still a long ways away, I'm looking forward to a return trip to Virginia Beach. My boss says I should check out Myrtle Beach. Virginia is kinda my road trip limit, so I'd probably have to fly down to South Carolina if I were to do that. I've never been on a plane before. If I do any aerial travel, I'd rather do it with company. There aren't as many geocaches there than in Virginia Beach, anyway. :)

I keep going through highs and lows with Dearest Vikki. Right now, she rules like no other. September was kind of a different story.

Brown and I went to the bar last night (go figure). They had a Halloween party there. Last year, it was fucking crazy. This year, there weren't as many original ideas, but the skanks and whores were out in full force. So it was great. :) I don't think I'm gonna post any pictures -- Brown has all of the pictures, anyway -- but uh... damn. There sure were a hell of a lot of schoolgirls in miniskirts. I'm not sure why some of them even bothered to wear clothes. Woo.
